Where to start? This is one of our new favorite hotels in the world. We had a room with a fireplace, and the wonderful staff were kind enough to help us light it. This means we spent every evening cozied up by a fire, in a small Greek mountain village. What a dream. The food was some of the best we’ve had in all our travels. The breakfast is the stuff of dreams—huge variety, with both sweet and savory options, and delicious cappuccinos made to order. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights, and each meal was divine. This was the perfect Greek mountain retreat, and we would love to come back and stay again someday!

I liked:
I liked:
The traditional house architecture that has been somehow preserved and gives a unique character to the entire village.
The streams and creeks inside and around the village.
The main square with the beautiful large platanus-sycamore trees.
The views of the Pagasitikos bay from the village.
The view of the thickly wooded forests of chestnuts and walnuts.
Portaria and Makrynitsa and Pelion in general are close to what my idea of paradise is!

It is a very small village on the top of a mountain near Volos.Ok, the view is very nice especially during night, but You need to climb the mounting by car and you need 30-40 minutes for 9 km.When you arrive there, you will find many hotels, 8-10 restaurants, 3-4 souvenir shop, one petrol station, one pharmacy and nothing else.

All villages from Pelion are extremely interesting and with a local air. The view is just unbelievable. A great rustic experience which a real urban, busy traveler must have. The food, the nature, the panorama, every and each place are just mind blowing. Pelion is not the tourist oriented place, but this makes it even more desirable. So, if you choose Greece and you might need some peace of soul, this is the place.

We stayed at gastronomy hotel Kritsa in front of a 1000 years old Plane tree. The hotel shares a big yard together with 2-3 other small hotels covered by huge Plane trees. It's a magnificent place .
Old style, like in XX century. House is from 1838.
Nice hosts even if they don't speak much english; breakfast with partly homemade dish.
Beautiful decorations, the view from balcony is amazing.
Parking lot near the building.
Quiet area very close to main square of Portaria with a lot of tavernas and shops.
New hotel, located at the heart of the village yet quiet and laid back environment. From the garden to the room everything was clean and tidy. Room was spacious with great mountain view, cable TV, free WiFi. Staff was polite and helpful. Highly recommended
Breakfast buffet had plenty of options and fresh food.
Our stay was really wonderful. A picturesque building that's really a pleasure to stay in, modern facilities with everything working perfectly, kind and pleasant people running the hotel and a mouthwatering breakfast with all sorts of savory and sweet delights! Free parking spot also a bonus. Highly recommended
It's not a luxury hotel but you get all the necessary comfort. The rooms are small but cozy. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is abundant and includes local pastry and excellent coffee. The dinner serves delicious food as well. All in all I would say that it offers good value for the price.
Staff is helpfull. Relative close proximity to east pelion beaches and towns and kentaurs path. Nice view. Friendly staff.
Relativly private parking
Nise design to hall

Minibar filled with unnecessary stuff. would have been much better if they put a refrigerator instead.
We liked the location in Katihori it is near both Volos and Pelion. Accommodation was perfect, everything is very clean and the furniture is new. Very quiet neighborhood, perfect for a good-night sleep. Our host was very kind. 🙂
